Just because

The Yankees will be in Seattle for a four-game series against the Mariners August 13-16. Tickets went on sale last Thursday. Score! Home plate seats for the first game. Lower outfield for the second. First base line for the third. And, of course, third base line for the fourth and final contest. Ems' tickets are not available until the first of June. Portland Beavers' tickets not until the 27th of the current month. There is University of Oregon baseball going on currently, and I do have season tickets to those games. (The ping of aluminum bats isn't bugging me as much as I thought it might). Enough? As has been true for much of my life, not really. More would be better. The AAA All-Star game is being held in Portland this year. But those tickets don't go on sale until the 27th as well. And the game is in mid-July. Patience is not one of my stronger virtues, though I am getting better. The new high definition TV really brings the World Baseball Classic to life for me. Spring Training games too. But something still seemed to be missing. I found a solution. A little spooky to me so I can't imagine what others might think. The itinerary, Dear Reader, is as follows:
May 24
5:30 AM Depart Eugene by train
12:00 PM Arrive Seattle
1:10 PM San Francisco Giants @ Seattle Mariners
5:30 PM Depart Seattle by train
11:45 PM Arrive Eugene

Hopefully, there will not be a need for extra innings.

The color coding on my Google Calendar is so cool! But that D.R. is best left for another post. Or a therapist.
